- About Us
Undergraduate volunteers at UCC participate in attending to patients’ needs in several ways. First, these volunteers record patient vital signs, including height, weight, BMI, and blood pressure. The volunteers next discuss the meaning of these statistics with patients, encouraging them to continue the conversation with other UCC health providers later in the visit. Along with vital signs, undergraduates gather basic demographic information from patients to help the clinic tailor its services to the needs of its patients. Undergraduate volunteers then transition care of the patient to volunteers from the schools of nursing and medicine. If a patient needs a blood glucose or tuberculosis test (PPD), undergraduates will perform them at the end of the patient’s visit to UCC.
UCC is not accepting applications for undergraduate volunteers at this time. Check back this summer or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org for details about when volunteer spots will become available.
